“As a young researcher/economist enrolling for the Mcom in Competition and Regulation Economics at the University of Johannesburg has helped me to improve my understanding of the fundamentals of my work. As such my interest in competition and industrial policies issues has been enhanced and the knowledge I have acquired is essential and positions me to cement my career in this space going forward.

I chose this masters for three main reasons. Firstly, it’s an emerging area in economics which is important in understanding why competition and regulation is vital for development and can be used in addressing imbalances in the economy and foster sustainable inclusive growth. Secondly, The impeccable quality of the lecturers is second to none, the course is taught by experienced international economist with both corporate and academic experience in competition and regulation issues. Some of these are names I used to read in newspapers or watch them on television. The opportunity to learn and interact with them is priceless. Last but not least, the course is very flexible and let not distance worry you. The classes are held after working hours and are online.

To put it simply, I have loved it so far and have been pushed a lot academically.”
